The operating principle of electromagnetic flow meter is based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, electromagnetic flow meter comprises of sensors and converters, sensors is composed of the measuring tubes, electrodes, excitation coils, iron cores ,shells and other parts, the converter will amplify the flow signal, process and operate to display instantaneous flow, cumulative flow, output pulse, analog current and other signals, for fluid flow measurement and control.

Features

Electromagnetic flow meter is a kind of high-precision and high-reliability speed-type flow meter. It is suitable for conductive media with conductivity greater than 5us/cm, with wide range of nominal diameter, and is adapt to a variety of actual environmental conditions, it has a variety of power supply methods and a variety of signal output, and it is provided with the standard RS-485 serial communication interface, and support the international standard MODBUS-RTU communication protocol and networking communication of the wireless such as GPRS and the wired one, with cumulative pulse equivalent output.  Not only has it the functions of the measurement and display,but also supports the data telex, wireless remote control, alarm and other functions.  Electromagnetic flow meters have excellent repeatability and linearity of measurement, good reliability and anti-jamming performance, good pressure sealing, low pressure loss measuring tubes, high intelligence, maintenance-free.

When selecting electromagnetic flow meters, pay attention to the following points:

  •  The actual maximum operating pressure must be less than the rated operating pressure of the electromagnetic flow meter

  •  The minimum operating temperature and the maximum operating temperature must meet the temperature requirements specified in the flow meter

  •  From the economic point of view, the choice of caliber is to judge the range of flow rate, so as to choose the appropriate flow meter

  •  According to the purpose and function of the measurement, the corresponding accuracy level is reasonably selected

  •  The electrode material of the electromagnetic flow meter is selected according to the corrosiveness of the medium

  •  The lining material of the flow meter is selected according to the corrosion, wear and temperature of the medium

 According to the requirements and environment of the installation, to choose whether to use a one-body electromagnetic flow meter or a split electromagnetic flow meter

Selection of sensor calibers

     According to related diagram between the maximum flow rate of the flow meter, the minimum flow and caliber, as well as the graph among flow meter inner diameter, flow rate, and flow to choose the caliber rationally and economically.

  •  To select the caliber of sensor same as that of the connected process pipe

This option is easy to install and does not require a different diameter tube.  However, it is premised that the user's actual flow rate should be in the 0.5-10m/s flow rate range. That is, consider the flow meter caliber, flow rate and flow relationship.

  •  The caliber of the selected sensor is not the same as that of the connected process pipe

This option applies in two cases:

A.The flow rate in the pipeline is low, the process flow is more stable, in order to meet the requirements of the flow rate range of the instrument,and to increase in flow rate in the instrument part of the local , select the sensor caliber is less than the process pipe caliber, before and after the sensor added a different diameter tube.  

B.In terms of price, for large-calibre electromagnetic flow meters, the larger the caliber, the higher the price. For the low flow rate in the pipeline and stable process parameters, a sensor with a smaller caliber can be used, which not only can make the instrument run in a better working condition, but also can reduce the investment cost of the instrument.
